the congratulation does not belong to me Khalid; it belongs to the Iraqi contributors of the Olivebranch Network. They are the ones who provide both the content and inspiration for the Olivebranch Network; I merely facilitate it.
That said I will not deny some credit. I have spent countless hours of unpaid work developing the Olivebranch Network in the last year, but every last second of it has been repaid through gratifying friendships and communal support for the OB network.

Olivebranch may not be a Jew, but Antony Loewenstein certainly is. Antony provided the domain name for the Olivebranch Network. Antony is Jewish and without him the whole infrastructure of the Olivebranch Network would basically not exist as it is today. Antony's package deal included:
- 50 megabyte hosting package
- blogging software
- domain name registration
Is this surprising? Hardly, no. Considering the circumstances it is only cause for more mirth (mine).

And I am disappointed in you Olivebranch - why did you try so hard to prove there were no Jews involved. What is there to be ashamed of - do you really think Jewish money is dirtier then anyone else's?

Those were your words. They are words too oft used to intice a response from arab muslims; and yes, Antony Loewenstein the incredibly generous, ANTI-ZIONIST Jewish blogger//author//journalist (whose book CRITICISING Israeli policy became a best-seller).
More importanlty than this however is that Antony Loewenstein could leave any support he ever offered the Olivebranch Network right now and it would make ZERO difference; besides the betrayal of friendship and disheartening feeling it would have on me to lose the support of a wonderfull friend.
And to respond to your questioning whether or not I think Jewish (and when I say Jewish I mean Israeli' since thats what "Jewish" implies in any discussion about the Middle East) money is dirtier than anyone else's: No, I think its equally as dirty as money from any other corrupt, human-rights abusing nation.
What Antony Loewenstein offered to myself in January 2005 last year was not an idea that was the Olivebranch Network; it was not monetary funding to set up a pre-existing idea. What Antony offered was a years worth of domain registration and a hosting package which he himself had obtained FOR FREE, by ranking in the top 5 blogs in SmartyHost's Australia's best blog competition.
Antony would have supported any website I developed. What made me incensed earlier was not your accusation that the Olivebranch Network was "funded by jews"- a dirty trick used to sling mud by suggesting a dubious relationship with Israel to try drive a wedge between the OB network and its contributors, no.
What made me angry was the suggestion that anyone would try use such silly logic to attack OB. Where can there be any harm in what the Olivebranch Network is doing, and moreover, how can you claim that "jews" fund the Olivebranch Network.
The person who donated the money to continue years worth of domain hosting for the Olivebranch Network was a Pakistani Shia muslim now living in the USA. A generous donation of $80 for 1 year worth of hosting. (the "blogging software" was just a copy of the freely downloadable WordPress client, no big issues here)
All other expenses involved with the OB network; including domain registration and all the extra time put into designing, editing and administrating the network come from myself and the Olivebranch Network contributors//editors, who are Iraqi born and bread; (with the exception of myself).
So there you have it, if you want to make an accusation be accurate: since time is money, The Olivebranch Network is funded by Australian's (Antony and I, though as I said Antony's donation was a one-off competition that I won through my own writings), a Pakistani Shia Muslim in the US, but more than anyone else, the Olivebranch Network is funded by Iraqi persons themselves through their own time and dedication to writing in-depth, informative posts.

Oh and by the way, through-out the Olivebranch Network's archives there are dozens of times I have thanked Antony Loewenstein publicly for his generosity. There was never an attempt to hide his generosity and support for this and other projects designed to build bridges across cultural gaps.
If you wish to continue this debate, go ahead; just try and do it in a way thats less of a "mud slinging" and more of a "discussion". Khalid knows Antony Loewenstein personally, Antony interviewed him for his book about Blogging under opressive regime's (has that interview happened yet Khalid?).
