Words to be written with gold, and hanged on every wall.

" They say, how can one that claims to support peace support the resistance? and they refer to us by that mainly, i say here today: how can anyone that supports peace not support the resistance?"

- Bashar Alassad, right now, in the Arab leaders meeting, Live on Aljazeera, From Doha.

Words to be written with gold, and hanged on every wall.

Believe it or not, it can be done. Supporting peace but not "the resistance" that is. It takes a great deal of grit but it is worth it when "the resistance" turns into a hired pool from which a new hierarchy of despots are drawn and funded to undermine non-violent methods. One can then sit back on one's battered shoeless heels and know that one has acted entirely independently and is no pawn, while preparing to deal with a fresh crop of arrogant voices every bit as brutish as any other lout. One must be sure to understand that an occasional rage or shoe-throwing fit does not equate to resistance at all but to expressionism - and is probably the response of someone who has been the subject of a sustained campaign to harass, intimidate and rudely criticise people who have never harmed even an ant in their lives. Myself, I wish that one day the war will end and all of the Iraqi children shall be clothed and wearing shoes, and be fed and educated (as they and children in other nations once were in a more fortunate time that has grown into many years ago).
