I am Very Very Happy
Sami Alhaj, the reporter of Aljazeera who have been in Guantanamo for six years without being charged of anything and was tortured often, have been released finally. I have often prayed for him, and i am very very happy for his release, i feel like i know him, i pray for all those who face injustice to get what they deserve.

This is such a great relief! Kudos to all who wrote letters and lobbied for Sami's release, especially al Jazeera who maintained constant diplomatic pressure and assured Sami of getting his job back as soon as he is able to work. I can only imagine how his family must feel, I am so happy for all of them! I hope he is able to overcome the horrible effects of his imprisonment and abuse, my heart burns to think of his suffering and that of all the men held for so long without reason or recourse.

Like Moazzem Baig & other detainees who were released, will he ever fully recover from what happened? What is the full impact of G. Bay on these people? & while South African activists againsts apartheid were imprisoned for decades, they weren't tortured..
Subhanallah-it was a moment of hope & joy when Sami was released..
I'm hoping to interview him inshallah. I spoke to his lawyer who said that at this point, he's only giving intvws to Al Jazeera as he just wants time to recover. They'll let me know as soon as he's willing to talk
I was shocked when I mentioned the story to my team & they didn't know who he is..
